Energize & Ground

A Journey Through Movement and Breath

An energizing 20-minute workshop that will uplift your students bodies, calm and balance their minds and allow them to mindfully connect to the present moment.

This session blends movement, breathwork and meditation to create balance, vitality and relaxation.

Education setting structure

  • Movement

We begin with a full-body warm-up -stretching, jumping and moving freely to ignite creativity and energy.

Through movement improvisation, I will lead students to awaken their bodies, tapping into their full range of expression.

  • Breath work

Next, we explore voice activation—humming, singing, and creating rhythm together to release tension and elevate energy.

We transition to Bhramari Humming Breath, a calming pranayama practice that soothes the nervous system and reduces stress.

We then practice Alom Velom- alternate nostril breathing, to balance the mind and body, enhancing focus and calming anxiety.

  • Mindfulness Meditation

Finally, we end with a guided sitting meditation, learning to use energy locks (Mulabandhas) to retain the energy.

Whether through Loving Kindness Meditation or Transcendental Meditation, students will connect deeply with their inner peace, fostering compassion and calm.

20 years experience teaching Dance to all ages from 5-95

With extensive experience as a dance teacher, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of dynamic and diverse settings. My journey has included leading classes with young children across the SW of UK, for both beginners and advanced students. I've also been deeply involved in community and charity projects including Gloucestershire Dance, working at renowned festivals such as Glastonbury, Shambala and Bristol Harbour Side, where dance and performance bring people together.

In addition, I have worked with GCSE students on performance and choreography, as well as degree-level students, delivering contemporary dance content.

My work spans across multiple demographics, including facilitating creative movement in care home settings for the elderly. As a trained dance psychotherapist, I have facilitated women's mental health groups and addiction recovery sessions, including within a female prison and numerous other settings where dance offers a healing and empowering outlet for individuals facing unique challenges.
